Lewis Pate

Proven security professional and leader of security teams and programs for both On-premise and Cloud Service environments. He has over 20 years of national and international experience, specializing in security education, program design and architecture, compliance, and privacy and vulnerability assessments. He is a leader on the application of FedRAMP, GLBA, SOX, and GDPR in a multi-tenant environment. His passion is for helping the average person and new security professionals understand the why, what, when and how of security. In his current role as Director, Cybersecurity Operations Center, Lewis is responsible for providing 24/7/365, end-to-end cybersecurity services to protect customer enterprises spread across 32 countries. In a previous role as Chief technology Officer, he directly managed a $350M annual acquisition budget, and was the technical authority and senior information security advisor for the Chief Information Officer, supporting a 7500+ employee organization.

As an IT and cybersecurity instructor, Lewis has taught numerous classes to representatives from organizations such as Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA); Department of Homeland Security (DHS); National Security Agency (NSA); U.S. Army, Air Force and Navy; US State Department; Verizon; Career Changers; as well as a diverse commercial client-base to include several Fortune 1000 firms. Lewis integrates his wealth of knowledge and experience into training the next generation of cyber security professionals. His unique and galvanizing instructional approach blends traditional with non-traditional delivery to help position each student for success. He motivates each student to develop their individual vision of success, and teaches them the key information to achieve their goals. For the students, these learned skills and techniques are a launching pad for information and cybersecurity careers in either the private or public sector. Lewis is a recognized thought leader and innovator in the information security field. He is a valued and contributing member on the (ISC)2 Instructor Advisory Board, currently serving a third consecutive term.
